How to Root Sony Xperia L1 without PC

Sony recently launched its latest and budget friendly smartphone known as Sony Xperia L1. It comes packed with 5.5-inch HD IPS display with 1280 x 720-pixel resolution, powered by an Octa-core MediaTek MT6737T processor, paired with 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage and can be expandable through microSD. Sony Xperia L1 runs on the stock version of Android v6.0 Marshmallow.

It sports a 13MP Autofocus rear camera with LED flash and has a 5MP front-facing shooter. It supports Dual SIM connectivity feature with dual standby that allows the user to use both the numbers at a time. Other than this the smartphone is equipped with connectivity features like 4G VoLTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and has a 2,620 mAh battery for a long battery life.

Prerequisites:

Before rooting your Sony Xperia L1 makes sure that your phone battery is 100%.

Before starting the rooting process create a backup of your phone, you will not lose any data from your phone by rooting, but it is better to create a backup for safety.

Installation via Unknown sources should be enabled on your device. To enable it to go to Settings > Security > Mark Unknown Sources.

How to Root Sony Xperia L1 without PC

Step 1: After downloading Kingo root.apk on your phone copy the app to the internal storage of your Sony Xperia L1.

Step 2: Open the file manager that you are using on your Sony Xperia L1 and browse the Super-root.apk that you have copied to the internal storage of your phone.

Step 3: Now install the Kingo root apk on your device. Once the app gets installed, you will be able to see the app in the apps drawer.

Step 4: Make sure that you are connected to the internet. Choose a strong internet connection like WiFi or 3G connectivity.

Step 5: Now open the Kingo root app from the app drawer of your device.

Step 6: The rooting process will not take much time. The process will be completed within  1-2 minutes.

Step 7: Once the rooting process is completed in your Sony Xperia L1, Reboot your device once.
