How to Update Lenovo A6000 Plus to Android v6.0 Marshmallow

Lenovo recently launched its latest budget-friendly smartphone known as Lenovo A6000 Plus. It comes packed with 5-inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with 1280 x 720-pixel resolution. It runs on the stock version of Android v4.4 KitKat and can be upgradable to Android v5.0 Lollipop, powered by 1.2GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and can be expandable up to 32GB through microSD.

Lenovo A6000 Plus

Lenovo A6000 Plus sports an 8MP Autofocus rear camera with LED flash and has a 2MP front-facing shooter. It supports Dual SIM connectivity feature with dual standby that allows the user to use both the numbers at a time. Other than this the smartphone comes equipped with connectivity features like 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS and runs on a huge 2,300 mAh battery for a long battery life.

The Lenovo A6000 Plus comes with Android 4.4 KitKat OS out of the box. However, now you can update your Lenovo Vibe P1m to the latest version of Android v6.0 Marshmallow by using Custom ROMs. In this post, I will show you how to upgrade Lenovo Vibe P1m to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Android v6.0 Marshmallow comes with many new features like:

  • Comes with a new battery saving feature that extends the mobile usage up to 90 minutes.
  • Comes with improved RAM management.
  • It provides faster, smoother and more powerful experience.
  • It comes with Fingerprint support.
  • Supports OpenGL ES 3.1
  • You will be able to see all your notification in one place by tapping the top of your screen.
  • Supports 64-bit SoCs using ARM, x86, and MIPS-based cores.
  • SELinux enforcing gives better protection against vulnerabilities and malware.

Prerequisites:

Before installing the custom, ROM makes sure to backup your all personal data on the device.

Make sure that your mobile battery is 100%.

Before starting the process enable the USB debugging mode on your Lenovo A6000 Plus.

Tutorial to Install Android v6.0 Marshmallow Custom ROM in your Lenovo A6000 Plus:

Note: Installing custom ROM on your Android phone involves risk. Do it at your own risk. 

Step 1: First download the Android v6.0 Marshmallow ROM from the link given below. Download all three parts of the ROM.

Step 2: To combine all three parts of the ROM, bring all the three parts of the ROM into the same folder and double click on the ROM-Part1.rar, all the other parts will combine automatically after getting extracted. Make sure you have .rar extractor installed.

Step 3: Now download and install ROM Manager from the Google Play store, then install the clockwork mod recovery.

Step 4: Now connect your Lenovo A6000 Plus to the PC using a data cable, Copy the downloaded ”ROM.zip” file to the SD card of your phone.

Step 5: Now reboot your device using clockwork mod recovery under ROM manager, As soon as in Recovery Mode go to ROM Manager and select backup / restore to back-up all your personal data.

Step 6: Under recovery menu erase all your data, after completing go back to the Recovery Principle Menu and choose Flash ROM from your SD card.

Step 7: Now go to the location where you have copied the ”ROM.zip” file. Under ”ROM.zip” file, follow the instructions to install the Android v6.0 Marshmallow in your Lenovo A6000 Plus.

Step 8: Once you have successfully completed installing the Android v6.0 Marshmallow on your Lenovo A6000 Plus, Reboot your device.

That’s it. You have successfully updated your Lenovo A6000 Plus to the latest version of Android v6.0 Marshmallow.
