According to a report published by The Economics Times, the Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart is planning to introduce superfast delivery service, through which the products will be delivered in just three hours.
Recently Amazon also started similar kind of service named Amazon Prime through which products will be delivered within 1 hour. However, Amazon Prime service is currently not available in India. Flipkart is currently offering same day delivery in few selected cities, followed by Snapdeal and Amazon.
“We have to figure out the technology, pricing for these services. Such deliveries are necessity driven — say a thing a customer wants to gift or something he needs immediately. Flipkart has to offer a viable business model because it (3-4 hour delivery) will be expensive for the customer,”
Sujeet Kumar, head of WS Retail and ekart Logistics, told Economic Times.
More information regarding this service and its availability will be known after company makes official announcement.
